Energy Sector Technical Support

Solar radiation survey and monitoring equipment in Papua New Guinea

High Fidelity Solar Radiation & Weather Monitoring: System setup and field data acquisition, Gurney Airport, Milne Bay. A project with Elemental Group (NZ), PNG Power Ltd, Pacific Power Authority and GeoSun Africa (2020-2023).

PNGLNG Project start-up drilling team at Hides Wellpad B, Nabors Rig 702

PNGLNG Project start-up drilling team on Hides Wellpad B, June 2012, Nabors Rig 702, Hides gas field, Hela Province, PNG Fold & Thrust Belt. Actual drilling started around July 2012. Kiel’s PNG crew was part of the first batch of nationals to support the setup of the data acquisition system for Baker Hughes at this Nabors Rig 702 and worked throughout the entire drilling campaign duration.

Sopusa clan community engagement and project readiness support for Papua LNG participation

Sopusa clan is one of the four major clans of the upstream section (wellhead & facilities) of the Papua LNG. Since 2023, Kiel Consultants has supported the group and their landowner company, Tabu Toulo Sa Resources Limited, to achieve structured readiness for participation in the Papua LNG project. Through coordinated corporate and community engagement, the landowner entity is now positioned to contribute to EPC activities and associated development opportunities.

HSE & Quality Systems: ISO-aligned documentation and compliance readiness (Jun 2024 & Nov 2025)
Tropic Frond Oil Ltd: Renewable energy feasibility assessment at TFOL Kokopo factory with Nopdomus Ltd & Elemental Group, a PHAMA Plus-DFAT project, Feb-May 2024)
RPS/TGS NOPEC: Assisted in regulatory process to acquire Scientific Consent from the Department of Petroleum & Energy for TGS to conduct seismic survey in the Gulf of Papua (Jan-April 2023)
USAID PNG Electrification Program: Engaged by USAID PEP and carried out a mini-grid survey at SW Manus from November to December 2021.
Geotechnical Surveys: Supported DoW Manus and conducted geotech surveys along the main section of East-West Highway. We also carried out similar work for Krisa road in the Vanimo Green District, West Sepik Province (2017-2020).
Field Optimization: Assisted Halliburton & Elemental Group (NZ) to mobilize SDL-MWD combo unit for fast-moving rig drilling operations at Moran fields (Oil Search Ltd, 2017-2019). This work came to an abrupt halt after the massive earthquake and landslide impacts in Hela and Southern Highlands provinces.
